Bowfishing Association of America
About Us
The Bowfishing Association of America has been around for quite some time. It was formed in Little Rock, Arkansas by a group of guys that were highly dedicated into the sport of Bowfishing. They formed the Bowfishing association of America to better help and preserve the sport of Bowfishing for tournament shooters as well as the recreational bowfishing enthusiast.
The organization has evolved from a group of guys focusing on tournaments, to a true national voice focused on protecting the rights of bowfishermen, and educating new and young people coming into our sport.
Bowfishing Association Of America
The Bowfishing Association is a national organization that is there to help with legislative issues from state to state where possible, and we are there to support the guy who fish once a year to the guy who shoots tournaments on a regular basis. We host the World Championship every year, and also provide insurance and support to different state and local tournaments throughout the nation.
Our main goal is to preserve the rights of the individuals, help with conservation issues, and help protect the average bowfishermen. We are also here as a collective body to help individuals with questions pertaining to their specific fishing conditions, since we have state representatives within most regions of America. Joining this organization will only add to the number of individuals who enjoy the sport of bowfishing , and help with the foundation of support of other sportsman, like yourself who enjoy this sport.
By joining an organization within the confines of this sport, you will learn about what techniques work well, and the ones that do not work so well. You will also meet other individuals who can help you with questions or places to fish in your region or in other regions that you may want to visit to fish. State, Local, and National organizations of clubs with bowfishing is a strong source of support and knowledge that is not commonly known to the average outdoorsman. Only within the last few years with the different species of silvers and other carp has bowfishing been more in the spotlight. We have been known within the world of the fish biologists for years as a way to help with the population of rough fish for the simple fact that what we do as a sport only helps with reduction on any body of water. More and more states are embracing the idea of bowfishermen with this form of removing rough fish from waters to where the laws are gearing more to help the bowfishermen, and it’s becoming a national topic within the fish biologists community.
So, in closing, I would like to offer you this opportunity to consider trying this wonderful sport, and possibly joining an organization that is there to help with getting started, rather it be locally or nationally. It’s a family oriented sport and experience is not required! Feel free to visit our website WWW.BOWFISHINGASSOCIATION.COM or WWW.BOWFISHINGCOUNTRY.COM
